Speech by Simon COLLOT, Managing Director of Hyvity at the “French Transition Tour” seminar in Ho Chi Minh City<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After signing a promising partnership agreement in April 2022 in the north of the country with a local producer, Hyvity is pleased to have been able to present its vision and ambition of deploying a fleet of hydropower plants in Vietnam alongside a French delegation during the “French transition tour” organized by Business France in Ho Chi Minh City on 11 & 12 July 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With electricity demand increasing by 10% every year since 2011, Vietnam is targeting, through an ambitious plan (PDP8) the increase of its renewable energy capacity to 32% by 2030 and 58% by 2040 and carbon neutrality for 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A development plan that implies the addition of a significant share of intermittent energies in the grid and will require all the benefits that hydropower can offer to their deployments: stability, flexibility and sustainable low production cost. This is essential if we are to maintain Vietnam’s industrial competitiveness, which cannot continue to grow with a rising cost per kW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On its own scale, Hyvity’s ambition is to support the country’s efforts, with local partners, to contribute to the achievement of these goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also an opportunity to meet many local actors through an intense program of B to B meetings co-organized with Business France. Thanks to Trang LE THI, Pierre DECOUSSY and the Business France Asean Pacific team for their work, welcome and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
